Libby Hanley makes films with style. The Brooklyn based Director/Writer/Producer focuses on female-driven stories that exist outside conventions. Her most recent project, the short film BIRKIN PERSON, is currently in festival submissions.
Her prior work includesLES TOXIQUES (2025), which premiered at LA Shorts and acts as the spiritual sequel to her first short LES BONBONS (2019), shot during her senior year at Northwestern on a Bindley Grant. In between, she directed Montessori Boy Live (2023), the viral comedy group’s first stage show. A background in shorter form comedy, she was the director of Northwestern Sketch Television in the 2018 - 2019 school year, culminating in a 90 minute premiere of filmed sketches.
Professionally her background includes time in the Film and Television department at Fifth Season, the Motion Picture Literary department at William Morris Endeavor, and John Krasinski’s Sunday Night. As a freelancer she has worked in the art department on Justin Bieber and Joey Bada$$ music videos, and Ashley Graham’s visual podcast.
She is currently in development on her first feature film and producing work under her Ursula Films banner.
